How the Experts Address Mold Remediation in Your Mercer County Home or Business

10/14/2021 (Permalink)

Mold is one of the most dangerous infestations a Mercer County home or business can have as the result of water damage.

Mold grows quickly in dark and damp places, while potentially creating a major health hazard to everyone within the building.  If you discover your home or business has mold, it's vital to hire mold remediation experts to make the premises safe again.

Here's what happens.

What Is Mold Remediation?

Property cleanup specialists prefer the term "mold remediation" to "mold removal," because mold can never be 100% removed.  Microscopic mold spores are everywhere, all the time, floating in the atmosphere.  Only the most sterile of scientific clean rooms are ever totally free of mold.  So, we say "mold remediation" to be clear on the point.

How Does Mold Remediation Work?

Once the source has been identified the remediation process can quickly and safely remove a Mold infestation.  This generally takes two to seven days. During the process, the room(s) being treated will be sequestered, and you will need to keep all people and animals away from that area.

  1. Expert workers will contain the mold-infested area, protect all surrounding areas with Plastic Sheeting, change into head-to-toe hazmat suits to protect themselves from any potential contamination, then safely remove all contents and contaminated materials.
  2. Specialized Equipment.  Professional mold remediation services have access to Specialized HEPA Air Filtration Systems, HEPA Vacuums and high-powered biocides, which can kill, live mold growth.
  3. The biocide will kill active mold growth, but the leftover spores are nearly indestructible. Once the affected area has been remediated a Fungicidal Mold Resistant coating is applied. This prevents the mold from regrowing.

When the job is complete, the plastic sheeting is removed along with the containment and equipment.  At that point, you can safely enjoy the clean room once again.
